This vase (actually it's a hollow form because it won't hold anything) is made from birch and is for decorative purposes. It has a very small hole in the top through which all the hollowing was done and that is what makes this piece difficult. A hollow form is anything that requires a special tool to hollow it out but most people (other than turners) aren't familiar with that term so we will call it a vase. It has been finished with several coats of high gloss wipe on Poly, buffing between coats to give it a beautiful hand rubbed finish. It's 10 inches tall by 6 inches wide and as always has been numbered and signed on the bottom.
