This vase was made from the root ball of a Tulip tree. If you don't know what a root ball is, scroll through the pictures of the piece and I have included a picture of how it started. There is a lot more work in starting with a root ball but the character of the piece is well worth it. The grain patterns are wild and you can see where all of the roots are branching off. It reminds me of how something beautiful and strong can develop out of the chaos of creation. It is 7 inches wide by 13 1/2 inches tall.
